Short Bio

Insa M. Ewert currently works on blended finance and sustainable investment at the EU Delegation to Indonesia and the EU Mission to ASEAN. She previously obtained her doctorate as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA), working on EU-China trade and investment relations, policy-making in the European Institutions and the negotiations over a bilateral investment agreement. She was a visiting researcher at the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, Fudan University Shanghai, Egmont Royal Institute of International Relations in Brussels and collaborated on research projects with the private sector. She has also worked with a Member of the European Parliament in Brussels/Strasbourg as well as with the GIZ in Beijing. Insa frequently publishes on current issues in EU-China relations, is invited to speak at international conferences and solicited for media interviews. Insa holds a MA (Magister) in International Development and a BA in Political Science from the University of Vienna.
